Screw pump, screw motor and other single screw machineries are mainly composedof the smooth spiral curved surface screw rotor and screw stator, which have been widelyused in the field of oil, mining, chemical and aviation mechanics. Smooth spiral curvedsurface screw plays an extremely important role in the screw machineries. With thedevelopment of machinery industry, each industry for screw surface quality requires higherand higher, thus increasing the screw surface quality is particularly important. Therefore,this paper had carried on the analysis and research for the screw of smooth spiral curvedsurface, and proposed a new method for forming polishing by the wheel of abrasive belt.This paper puts forward a new kind of polishing method with the advantage of highprecision, high efficiency and low cost. It is forming polishing technology based on thewheel of abrasive belt. According to the spiral curved surface forming theory, combinedwith the polishing characteristics of the wheel of abrasive belt, based on the analysis of thebasic motion relationship for the wheel of abrasive belt and known the cross section shapeof the screw, designed the profile curves for the wheel of abrasive belt, and created aphysical model of the screw and the wheel by three-dimensional software. Through thesimulation, on the one hand, to verify the calculation accuracy and reliability of the profileshape, on the other hand, through the simulation to determine the appropriate installationangle and center distance which instead of the tedious work in the past and improved thecalculation efficiency of the profile shape design. Then, compiling the NC programaccording to the profile shape curves data of the wheel of abrasive belt, selecting theappropriate dressing parameters, doing the dressing experiments and getting the wheel ofabrasive belt meet the forming polishing standard. Finally, designing the forming polishingmachine tool according to the movement of the relationship between the wheel of abrasivebelt and the screw, and doing the simulation assembly and three-dimensional dynamicsimulation, inspection agencies and the interference of the relation of the design,completing the whole machine structure design. This paper will promote the screw of smooth spiral curved surface polishingtechnology development, improve the level of our country in the field of mechanicalprocessing, and has very important theoretical and practical significance.
