China is the largest producer of ceramic closestool in the world, and its designand manufacture technology has a significant influence on enterprise. In the light ofthe existing drawbacks such as low technology level, long cycle and high cost in thedevelopment of closestool. This paper introduced digital design and manufacturetechnology to innovate the traditional R&D process, and put forward the conception ofcombined-closestool based on adhesive moulding, to provide a complete and effectivetheory and method for closestool development.The research of this paper focused on the digital design and manufacture processof closestool and its mould. Firstly, this paper analyzed the principle, classification andcraft process of ceramic sanitary ware’s grouting-molding, as well as the manufacturemethod and procedure of mould, and deeply dissected the traditional R&D process ofclosestool and its drawbacks. Then constructted the digital R&D technical platformand approach, the paper extracted key elements which affect the closestool’s structureand performance, and built an accurate geometry model of jet siphonic closestool, thenintroduced various evaluation methods to virtually evaluate the closestool model. Withthe help of computational fluid dynamics(CFD)technique, this paper simulated theflow characteristics of closestool, comparatively analyzed the effect to pump powerand duration of siphon as the change of the size of jet hole, and optimized the diameterof the jet hole. Based on the deep analysis of product structure, the paper designed theseed mould and standard mould, and planned the separating-assembling path of mould.Then put forward the conception of making gypsum standard mould with NCmachining, aiming at partial mould pieces which are difficult for NC machining, thispaper designed a set of effective machining method. Finally, the paper bring forwardthe conception of combined-closetool based on adhesive moulding,standardized partialstructure of closestool, and designed a new type of closestool and it’s molding mould.The application of digital design and manufacture technology, and the conceptionof combined-closestool will effectively enhence enterprises’ technology level,andreduce the R&D cycle and cost of closestool. The result of this paper is valuable inpractical application for sanitary ware industry.
