In order to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the automobile and aircraft stamping parts failure mould repairing, based on the reverse engineering of digital model acquiring technology has been used widely. This paper has conducted in conducted in-depth study of one of the four key technologies; they are including the failure mould of digital measurement techniques, the failure mould point cloud simplifying technology, failure mould point cloud meshing technology and failure mould of the defect region partitioning algorithm. The specific research contents are as follows:Firstly, the paper puts forward a "female-male die" digital measurement method to measure the failure mould; it is mainly used for solving incomplete or no informat-ion failure mold digital measurement. The method by digital measurements on the failure of the mould to obtain the point cloud data, and indirect access to the data model of the standard mold in the process of obtaining the failure of mold point cloud data.Secondly, this paper adopts the point cloud data reduction method based on the K-order adjacent method to reduce the failure mould point cloud data. It has effectively improved the efficiency of point cloud data reduction. The paper first makes the point cloud space region partition, and constructs K-order of adjacent relation, Then in accordance with the specified number of point cloud, the specified point cloud spacing, specify the normal direction of the accuracy of the three data streamlined approach to streamline the point cloud data. So that the point cloud data streamline quickly and efficiently.Thirdly, the paper presents a grid incremental expansion method to generate a triangular mesh; it improves the generation efficiency of the model in the circumstan-ces to ensure the accuracy of the grid model. Point cloud data generated to triangle mesh by grid growth expansion. The method by the grid growth expansion of point cloud data to generate a triangular mesh model quickly and efficiently, using the method of mesh optimization and error analysis to realize iterative optimization of the mesh, finally obtained the reasonable grid data model.Finally, this paper studies the failure mould defect region feature extraction algorithm based on the intersection of triangular mesh Boolean operation method. According to the triangular mesh model of the failure of die and standard mold, through the intersection of grid model space region partition, intersection test, intersecting grid model Boolean subtraction operation, Then get a digital model of the defect region.
