Hydraulic support is an important part of comprehensive coal mining equipment. Which is used the high pressure liquid as the driving force and composed of some metal components and hydraulic components. It can efficiently support and control the roof of the working plane, isolated the empty area of mining, prevented the waste stone from getting into the working area and pushed the conveyer. It can be used with the coal mining machine to realize comprehensive mechanized coal mining, solved the contradiction that roof management trailed mining in the mechanized mining, then further improved and enhanced the efficiency of the coal mining and transportation equipment, reduced the labor intensity of workers in coal mine, gave workers the maximize protection of safety.Firstly, this paper referred to the research of the present situation about the comprehensive coal mining support equipment in our country, contrived a new type of Hydraulic support without tail beam. The new support has three relatively independent split top beams (left beam, middle beam, right beam), elastic guide-bars and a whole rigid base. Because there is a movable connection in each tow top beam, and it has a whole rigid base, that the support has good stability, further more, improve the ability that the roof adapts to the top board, and it is propitious to top board’s maintenance. Elastic guide-bar is arranged on the upright-post’s back, and with the guide sleeve of base to form a vertical guide apparatus, that can resist horizontal load, guide up and down and retain the style of the support. The support has good stability, simple structure, light weight, convenient disassembly and assembly, suitable for the national conditions of our country.Secondly, using three-dimensional software Pro/E. completed the hydraulic support’s3D parametric model, virtual assembly, and the interference checking; using the Mechanism module of the Pro/E to simulate the working process of the hydraulic support, then measuring the simulation results, eliciting the gravity change curve of whole hydraulic support, and the variation curve of force action point’ position in the hydraulic support’s working process, Verify its own stability and the stability in working process.Moreover, set up the equivalent simplified model in Pro/E, and import it into the ANSYS Workbench software to make static force analysis for the equivalent simplified model. Then get the analysis pictures of both stress and deformation in several conditions.This paper first presents an elastic guide-bar mechanism, and the concept of hydraulic support without tail beam and transferring pressure horizontally. Use the modern design method for the support’s structure design, motion simulation and finite element analysis, it provides important theoretical basis for improving the quality of products and shortening the development cycle in the future.
