Since the middle of the20th century, with the development of urbanization and socialmodernization,there has been a great change on people’s life quality and style.Comparing withthe past, various aspects of social life have made great progress and improvement. However,with the development of society, a stream of nostalgic tide emerged gradually, involved in almostall aspects of people’s lives. As a unique social language in clothing art,"Nostalgia" trend, hasbeen rised up in the clothing history again. The nostalgic trend reached its peak at the end of thefirst ten years of the21st century. many old domestic brands in buried obligations to out of thedepths of bankruptcy reorganization after several years of collateralised-debt, not only bere-accepted by Chinese people, but also by many European fashion icons. the clothing andaccessories which with classic70s and80s characters are popular with chinese people incontemporary market, and they became a bright scenery line in the market. Clothing nostalgiaincludes not only clothing style of a particular period, but also the nostalgia which form in someclassical elements of garments elements. people hold different opinion and attitude on this issue.since1990s, nostalgic consumption has been prevailed for a long time, and has affected everyaspect of our daily life, not only in the necessities, but also in the media industry. There is nodoubt the trend of the nostalgia will go smoothly In a word, we have to give more attention onthis issue.what we have to consider is the popularity of this trend is an inevitable result, or just anspecial case which is rooted from this modern society. how should we consider this nostalgictrend which is happened during the first ten years of century? This thesis will forcus thoseproblems and try to find out the reasons.The first chapter includes selection basis, project sources and the purpose of the research,the methods and ideas for introduction, the innovation points will be put forword; The secondchapter researches on the etymology of nostalgia. and introduce its different meanings ofdifferent historical period, make a clear definition of "nostalgia"; Then give some examples ofnostalgia in modern society. The third chapter mainly analizes the causes of the nostalgia,including personal factors, social environment factors and fashionable factors; The fourth chapter analysis the causes of clothing nostalgia from the fashion characteristic, consumer groups,consumption culture context and the influence of social politics, economy, culture backgrounddown; The fifth chapter will analize and discuss the clothing nostalgia from some newperspectives, such as clothing characteristics. fashion media, consumer culture; The sixth chaptersummarized its significance and value in theoretical significance in the clothing historicalreference and study as well as the practical guiding value to the clothing market, to theproduction enterprise, to provide certain reference for commercial operation; the conclusionsumarized that, this becaming of this unique clothing landscape is because of the specialcontemporary society environment.
