In the products of the machine and instrument manufacture, to measure the geometrical errors of this kind of workpieces accurately is very important to check on the quality of them. To reduce the geometrical error is very significant to improve the performance of the workpiece. The research on the measurement theory and technology of the geometrical errors has been being a significant forward project. But usually, the geometrical errors measured by various methods will contain other interference errors, inevitable but unexpected, so how to separate the mixing errors effectively and absolutely is vitally importance. The geometrical errors virtual measuring instrument based on the error separation technique is established to achieve the online measurement and separate the interference errors, it is very useful. The main content of the research work is follow.Firstly, in the research on assessing the mathematical model of the geometrical errors, the mathematical model of the tow-probe straightness error separation in time domain method, the three-step method and tow-probe method in time domain roundness error separation and the single-probe cylindricity error separation is deduced. At the same time, the rotary error motion is analyzed and summarized to provide a theoretical basis for the subsequent cylindricity error separation.It is proved that the original error accumulation can not influence the separated straightness error by the simulation in the tow-probe straightness error separation. This paper focuses on the roundness error separation of tow methods. Firstly, in the three-probe method, the rotary error motion is measured with the three translocation cases same or different are simulated, the results show that when the rotary error motion of three measurements with the same three-step separation is very effective, this method can still play a role in the separation in the different case. Then the frequency domain and time domain method are compared, the computation of the error separation in time domain method is smaller than the frequency domain method, but the separation accuracy is lower. The software system of geometrical errors assess and separation based on the LabVIEW software platform is designed in this paper. The theoretical model of straightness, roundness and cylindricity error separation is proved accurately, the result is satisfactory. This software system is used to analysis, assess and separate after connecting with the data acquisition module. Some amendatory steps are given to the testing experiment.
