Development And Application Of Tracking System For A Plate Mill

The automatic rolling control is the goal which most plate rolling plant to achieve.Good tracking system is the basis for automatic rolling control function. In plate mill tracking system, plate is tracked according to the instrumentation signal and control information, and the independent tracking database is needed for the plate information recording. Tracking display and correction functions are finished by human-machine interface. Realization of automatic tracking can provide a guarantee for the other functions of process control system.The main equipments of one plate plant are made by domestic factory, and the two-level automation control system is developed by Northeastern University. Tracking function for plate mill line is applied on site. The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1) Scheme of tracking system is designed. Whole tracking function is divided into three parts:Position micro-tracking, process tracking and material tracking. According to the actualities, material tracking function is realized by level-two instead of level-three.(2) Overall framework of tracking system is designed. Whole process tracking system is composed with tracking service system and process control system. Position micro-tracking function is implemented by PLC. Human-Machine-Interface (HMI) is designed as the interface of information exchanging.(3) Data communication is analyzed, and communication modes and tracking data streams between them are designed.(4) The software of process tracking is exploited by the way of multi-threaded and modular programming, and the mechanism of modulars link is on the basis of message trigger. Accurate tracking is realized via tracking regional division, tracking event judgment, tracking event treatment and tracking correction.(5) Application and realization of tracking system are introduced, including tracking function explanation, tracking process and tracking screen instructions.The tracking system which I am involved in the development has been applied in a plant process automation system, and the applications achieve better results.
