| Fluorescence properties of active components of herbal medicine Xinyi and Sumu werestudied in this thesis. A thin-layer fluorescence scanning method was proposed for thedetermination of magnolin and fargesin in Xinyi, and a fluorometric method was proposed forthe determination of brazilin in Sumu. Two parts were included in this thesis:1. Fluorescence property of magnolin and fargesin, active components of herbalmedicine Xinyi, were studied. Influence of experimental conditions on the spectral propertywas investigated. Using L-tryptophan as a reference, fluorescence quantum yields of fargesinand magnolin were measured to be0.25and0.089, respectively. A thin-layer fluorescencescanning method for the determination of fargesin and magnolin in Xinyi were investigated, and the contents of fargesin and magnolin were determined to be0.34%and3.35%,respectively.2. Fluorescence property of hematoxylin and brasilin, active components of herbalmedicine Sumu, were studied. Influence of experimental conditions on the spectral propertywas investigated. Using L-tryptophan as a reference, fluorescence quantum yields ofhematoxylin and brasilin were measured to be0.058and0.050, respectively. The fluorescentcomponents of Sumu were studied by3D fluorescence fingerprint and thin-layer fluorescencescanning method, and the result indicated that only brazilin is the fluorescent component ofSumu. Using a fluorometric method proposed in this thesis, the content of brazilin in Sumuwas determined to be0.014%. |
