In order to improve corrosion and wear resistance of hydraulic support column incoal mining,27SiMn steel, a common material of Hydraulic Support, is used assubstrate. Then chemical plating process and properties of series of coatings based onchemical plating Ni-P are studied in this paper. Through process optimization, Ni-Cu-P,Ni-Ce-P and Ni-Cu-Ce-P coatings were respectively prepared in basis of chemicalplating Ni-P coating on27SiMn. Surface morphology and phase of each coating werecharacterized with OM, SEM and XRD. Finally, the chemical coatings’ hardness, wearresistance, corrosion resistance and other properties are comparatively analyzed, and thecorresponding mechanism is also discussed. The results reveal that, alloy coatings’ surface morphology is optimized with theincrease of group elements, in addition, coating thickness of electroless plating Ni-P isup to20μm, Ni-Cu-P is about25μm, while Ni-Ce-P and Ni-Cu-Ce-P are both more than38μm; XRD shows that all the coatings’ fabric is still mainly amorphous; The hardnessof the samples is as follows: Ni-Cu-Ce-P>Ni-Ce-P>Ni-Cu-P>Ni-P>matrix, whereNi-Cu-Ce-P coating’s hardness is up to499.62; The wear resistance of Ni-Cu-Ce-Pcoating is about1.5times that of Ni-Cu-P coating,2.3times that of Ni-Ce-P,2.7timesthat of Ni-P and6times that of matrix; In solutions of3.5%NaCl and5%H2SO4, theorder of samples’ corrosion resistant performance are the same, as follows: Ni-Cu-Ce-P>Ni-Ce-P>Ni-Cu-P>Ni-P>matrix; The coatings are of good thermal shockresistance, and adhesion can meet the requirements. On the whole, Ni-Cu-Ce-P coating’sperformances are more excellent in all aspects, and it can be regarded as a goodprotective coating.
