Since the reform and opening up, the utilization of foreign direct investment in Chinahas reached more than50billion U.S. dollars by the year2002. China has become theworld’s top importing country of FDI. FDI has played an enormous role in thedevelopment process. While affirming the contribution to the economy, we are supposed tonotice that a variety of issues are becoming increasingly prominent. Bring economicbenefits to the multinational companies that may threaten the quality of the environment ofthe host country. Therefore it is necessary to study driving force of the multinationalbehavior, and what factors will affect the environmental behavior of multinationals in thehost country, especially standing on the point of the host country and multinationalsubsidiaries.Based on the literature reviews, this article discussed the factors which probably havesomething to do with multinational subsidiaries’ environmental management performancein the host country. With the comprehensive survey of a variety of specific factors, thisarticle introduce a multi-dimensional concept to explain corporate environmental behavior,and initiative a model to analyze, including green marketing, organizational structure,policies standardization. The questionnaires are used to measure the variables, and we usethe method of regression analysis to test various assumptions. The results show that greenmarketing, organizational structure and stakeholder relationship management canpositively promote multinational environmental management initiative, while thestandardization of ecological responsibility and policy role in promoting environmentalmanagement performance has nor been verified.
