Air pollution is more serious in China than other countries. Many pollutans emission aremore than American, ranking the first in the world. The emission of sulfur dioxide, nitrogenoxides, soot is high in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Its air pollution is serious. Thenational economy is developing rapidly driven by the western development in Inner MongoliaAutonomous Region and its environmental pollution problems have become increasinglyprominent. Baotou is one of the most important industrial city in Inner Mongolia. It is necessaryto control air pollution and improve air quality for stainable development of Baotou.The research literature and report on the Baotou air quality is relatively small. Evaluatingthe current state of the atmospheric environment is mostly from qualitative analysis. And thereis few analysis on influencing factors. Using data mining method to analyse the air qualityfactors are few. Data mining can analyse the environmental information deeply, compared totraditional methods. There is a challenging and practical significance to use data mining in theregional environmental economic model and the coordinated development of environmentaland economic.This article selects the conventional pollution factor SO2, NO2and PM10as the object ofstudy. Analyse the time-varying characteristics and compliance status of the various pollutantsand uses the API index method, the comprehensive pollution index evaluation method andfuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to evaluate the air quality of Baotou comprehensively.Secondly, analyse the air pollution impact factors of weather and economic, using correlationanalysis and gray relational analysis method. It gives a science and quantitative analysis and putforward the relevant recommendations to improve air quality in Baotou. It shows that economicvitality and scale has less affection on air quality than waste gas and energy consumption, butmuch than environmental protection policy, the progress of science and technology, the motorvehicle exhaust. On this basis, forecasts the air quality of Baotou. Using BP neural networkmodel obtains the annual value of SO2, NO2and PM10and using time series model obtains theirmonth value from March2011to December2012. Compared with real value, we find the erroris small and the forecast result is better. The forecast results show that the pollutants value isfalling and the air quality tends to improve. To improve the ari quality, we can optimize theindustrial structure, strengthen environmental legisltion, improve the environmental protectionfunds devotion, give an equal consideration on each pollutant control, realize urban greeningdiversification, control the motor vehicle exhaust. The important pollution enterprises shouldprogress the technical reform and so on.The paper can accumulate basic data for the comparative study of industrial urban airenvironment, lay the foundation for determining the spatial and temporal distribution ofpollutants of Baotou, provide the basis for air environmental protection work, provide the basisfor the sustained and steady economic development of the regional environmental and the goalof unifying social economic benefits and the environmental benefits.
