A machine unit of hydrogen production in Baosteel can extract the pure hydrogenfrom coal oven gas with the technology of pressure swing adsorption (PSA). This unitincludes many pressure vessels which are all the key equipments of critical parts anduses coal gas or hydrogen as its medium which is inflammable and explosive. So it isnecessary to find out and evaluate the risk of pressure vessels in order to formulate thestrategy of maintenance and keep the safe condition.A new risk evaluation technology has been applied to the research of the pressurevessels’ condition management for steel companies with the development ofdiagnostic technologies and accumulation of working experience of such equipments.And its software could provide the risk evaluation for the pressure vessels of the PSAequipments in the hydrogen production unit with the analysis method on the basis ofrisk according to API standard. Actually, risk is a kind of comprehensivemeasurements of the possibilities and seriousness of dangerous accidents. And riskevaluation for the PSA equipments is the qualitative or qualitative assessment of therisk by identification the existed dangerous elements for the purpose of safety so thatsome measures could be taken to reduce the risk to acceptable level and SOP couldalso be optimized in order to provide a scientific basis for the policy of equipmentmanagement. |
