As the aerospace, automobile, shipbuilding, power station equipment and the defenseindustry and other manufacturing industry’s rapid development, numerical control system in thefield of mechanical processing and daily life widely used. Algorithm of cutting tool radiuscompensation in NC system as an important part of the cutter radius compensation, refers to theprocess planning of tool path, cutting tool geometry parameter compensation and processingprecision control, cutter radius compensation in CNC system has become one of hot researchareas.In this study the domestic and foreign NC system based on FANUC, the algorithm ofcutting tool radius compensation in CNC system is studied. Analysis of the FANUC algorithm ofcutting tool radius compensation in CNC system’s advantages and disadvantages, and putsforward a kind of tool radius compensation algorithm. In this paper, the main research work is asfollows:1.First of the CNC system were analyzed. Introduce the structure of CNC system, includingits hardware architecture and software architecture, and introduces emphatically the FANUC NCsystem.2.FANUC algorithm of cutting tool radius compensation in CNC system conductedin-depth research, analysis of the FANUC algorithm of cutting tool radius compensation in CNCsystem’s advantages and disadvantages, and puts forward a kind of tool radius compensationalgorithm.3.CNC system based on FANUC tool radius compensation algorithm, using the toolalgorithm to build mathematical model. In order to calculate processing curve convergencedirection vector to determine the need to use the tool radius compensation type, this paper puts forward a new method to model the transition for the realization of algorithm of cutting toolradius compensation in. And the use of directed line and directed arc to express in the CNC tooltrajectory, given in the plane and straight line and straight line, straight line and circular arc andthe arc and arc of intersection calculation formula...
