High pressure grinding roll (HPGR) is a new type of crushing equipment. It has many advantages such as high yield, significant energy saving, high reduction ratio and so on. And it is mainly used for secondary crushing and fine crushing. If high pressure grinding roll is broken, the efficiency of ore dressing will be dropped down. The paper dicusses the working principle and common fault type of high pressure grinding roll and analysis the vibration feature of HPGR. On the basis of HPGR’s vibration feature, many works have been done for vibration feature extraction, vibration condition of HPGR, senor arrangement of vibration feature collection, vibration feature collection experiment. The following is the main contens and innovation points of this paper:1. Analyse the HPGR’s vibration feature and Put forward that using the signal atoms decomposition to extract and decomposite vibration feature. In order to take account of little shock attenuation component and periodic component, the paper raise using the Gabor atom to constitute the atoms library which has best time-frequency distribution characteristics.2. On account of the weakness of matching pursuit algorithm, the paper proposes to using the hybrid algorithm, DEPSO, to complete the searching and calculation of match pursuit algorithm. The result of standard function test shows that the convergence speed of DEPSO algorithm is very high which is inherited from the particle swarm algorithm. Thourgh introducing the crossover or mutation operation of differential evolution, DEPSO avoids getting into the local optimum predicament. The decomposition and feature of simulation signal which is based on the vibration feature of HPGR further verify that DEPSO algorithm has high convergence speed and searching precision.3. Carry on the numerical simulation analysis of main parts of HPGR with the analysis software and obtain the stress, strain and vibration condition of different vibration mode. These provide a basis for the senor arrangement of vibration experiment. The structure optimization of key parts of HPGR improves the condition of vibration and stress concentration significantly.4. Take the experiment of HPGR’s vibration feature. The result of test shows that the model of finit element analysis is reliable and the convergence speed and searching precision of DEPSO algorithm is high.Vibration feature extraction and finit element analysis of HPGR could provide reference for operation condition monitor and fault diagnosis. This also supplies the theory basis for vibration feature extraction and structure optimization design.
