Nature Reserve is a sign of the progress of human society and an important base of biodiversity conservation, being very important to human beings. Scientific, rational, standardized planning is the prerequisite for the healthy development of Nature Reserve. And functional zones division has a direct impact on the work related to the protected areas and the implementation of multiple functions, being an important part of planning and significant guarantee of ecological security of Nature Reserve. Clear conservation objectives, the establishment of representative and integrated indices are the key elements for dividing functional zones scientifically.Based on field research, the functional zones division of Yesanhe Nature Reserve was studied in the paper. Effective protection of natural resources and healthy development of society economy are taken into account, avoiding’Treatment after Pollution’ in the developed countries. So that the development of communities and protection of Nature Reserve can both be achieved. And the communities are going to get coordinate and sustainable development with Nature Reserve. In addition, the establishment of building indices system of functional zones division in Yesanhe Nature Reserve and the employed method can make a reference for the other reserves. The main results and conclusions of the study are as follows.1. There are1234vascular plant species (including cultivated species), belonging to612genera and175families, including46species,32genera and21families of pteridophytes,1188species,580genera and154families of spermatophytes. Natural vegetations are divided into49formations,9types and3type groups. And there are316animal species, belonging to83families and27orders, including62species,23families and62species of mammals,207species,41families and15orders of birds;23species,9families and2orders of amphibians,24species,10families and3orders of reptiles.2. The main objective of Yesanhe Nature Reserve is identified to protecting forest ecosystem,60species of rare and endangered wild plants,238species of key protected wild animals, water sources and main vegetation.3. Main threat factors of Yesanhe Nature Reserve presently are forest fires, illegal collection of forest products and poaching of wildlife. And main sources are the inhabitants’weak awareness of protection and poor condition of economy.4. The evaluation indices for dividing functional zones are built according to the main object of protection and threat factors in Yesanhe Nature Reserve.113evaluation units are evaluated by measuring numbers of plaque, vegetation cover, types of plant communities, plants rarity, animals rarity, water area, population density, economic level and accessibility.5. Based on the evaluation results of113units as well as other elements such as present land usage, terrain, rivers, valleys, roads and administrative boundaries, the boundaries and scope of core zone, buffer zone and experimental zone of Yesanhe Nature Reserve are determined, providing a solid foundation for its development in the future.
