Firstly, five organic metal salts were synthesized in this article: bis(tosyloxy)zinc tetrahydrate(Zn(p-CH3PhSO3)2·4H2O),bis(benzoyloxy) zinc tetrahydrate (Zn(PhCOO)2·4H2O), bis((2-hydroxybenzoyl)oxy) copper tetrahydrate (Cu(o-HOPhCOO)2·4H2O), bis((2-hydroxybenzoyl) oxy)zinc tetrahydrate (Zn(o-HOPhCOO)2·4H2O, bis((4-hydroxybenzoyl) oxy)zinc tetrahydrate (Zn(p-HOPhCOO)2·4H2O). Then, the4’-phenyl-2,2’:6’,2"-terpyridine(L) was synthesized which as ligand reacted with five metal salts respectively to prepare seven complexes (Ⅰ~Ⅶ). By using methods of diffusion, evaporation, and hydrothermal, the crystals of the seven complexes were obtained and characterized by X-ray diffraction.4’-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-2,2’:6’,2"-terpyridine (L) was used as ligand to react with organic metal salts bis(tosyloxy)zinc tetrahydrate (Zn(p-CH3PhSO3)2·4H2O), bis(benzoyloxy)zinc tetrahydrate(Zn(PhCOO)2·4H2O), bis((2-hydroxybenzoyl)oxy)copper tetrahydrate (Cu(o-HOPhCOO)2·4H2O), zinc butter respectively, to prepare four complexes (Ⅰ~Ⅳ) at a1:1ratio between ligand and metal salts. The formulae of complexes Ⅰ~Ⅳare: Complexes [Zn(CH3PhSO3)2L](1), Complexes [Zn(PhCOO)2L](2), Complexes [Cu(o-HOPhCOO)2L](3), Complexes [ZnCl2L](4).4’-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-2,2’:6’,2"-terpyridine (L) was used as ligand to react with organic metal salts, bis(tosyloxy)zinc tetrahydrate (Zn(p-CH3PhSO3)2·4H2O), bis((2-hydroxybenzoyl)oxy)zinc tetrahydrate(Zn(o-HOPhCOO)2·4H2O), bis((4-hydroxybenzoyl)oxy) zinc tetrahydrateZn(p-HOPhCOO)2·4H2O respectively, to prepare three sandwich complexes(Ⅴ-Ⅶ) at a2:1ratio between ligand and metal salts. The formulae of three sandwich complexes (Ⅴ-Ⅶ) are:complexes [ZnL2](CH3PhSO3)2(H2O)(5), complexes [ZnL2](CH3PhSO3)2(3H2O)(6), complexes [CuL2] Cl2(10H2O)(7).The center Zn (Ⅰ) or Cu (Ⅰ) ions of [1:1] type complexes Ⅰ-Ⅳ are all five-coordinated with square pyramidal configuration; the center Zn (Ⅰ) or Cu (Ⅰ) ions of [2:1] type sandwich complexes Ⅴ~Ⅶ are all six-coordinated with octahedral geometry; both the hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking interaction exist in all complexes Ⅰ~Ⅶ. Then the fluorescence properties of zinc-4’-phenyl-2,2’:6’,2"-terpyridine complexes were studied, and found that the zinc complexes:Complexes [Zn(CH3PhSO3)2L](1), Complexes [Zn(PhCOO)2L](2), Complexes [ZnL2](CH3PhSO3)2(H2O)(5) were with fluorescence properties.
