Stray current corrosion has become an important aspect in anticorrosive of oil pipelines, which not only lead to destruction of material but also cause environmental pollution, and even cause the loss of function of the equipment components in whole or in part, pose a great threat to personal safety and property of the State, but as long as we take reasonable and effective protective measures, it can reduce the harm of oil and gas pipelines and achieve protection and control purposes.First, this paper introduces the basic properties of stray current and the corrosion mechanism of stray current, based on this proposed model of stray current in the welding process was proposed, draw the distribution laws of current and potential; Second, through laboratory simulation experiments to study the impact of stray current to the corrosion rate of specimens on different soil conditions, through regression analysis get the relationship between stray current density and corrosion rate; Finally, the field test on stray current was conducted, though which the model was verified to be effectiveness and the electric field distribution of the soil near the pipeline during welding process was verified, even obtained that the quantitative relationship between electric field and corrosion, the protective measures on the stray current corrosion in the pipeline were provided.
