To collect cigarette butts soaked in ethanol, combined filtrate and concentrated undervacuum to ethanol extract, then use water miscible. The concentrated ethanol extract ofcigarette butts was extracted by Petroleum ether, EtOAc, and n-BuOH, to obtain thecorresponding extracts. The petroleum ether, ethyl acetate extractive were isolated by columnchromatography and purified by HPLC,obtain eight compounds. By spectral properties andthe literatures of their structures were identified: the compounds include α-spinasterol (1),Solanesol (2), Scopotetin (3), Methyllinoleate (4), O-dihydroxy benzene diethyldiol ether (5),Glycerine triacetyl (6), Nicotine (7), α-spinasterol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (8). Based on thetotal proceeds of various monomers known: in the petroleum ether extract that solanesolcontent up, accounting for1.14%of the total weight of cigarette butts; in the ethyl acetateextract, nicotine and glycerine triacetyl respectively accounted for1.0%and0.6%of thetotal weight of the cigarette butts.Solanesol, Nicotine, Glycerine triacetyl and Acetylcellulose were extracted by differentsolvents, because of resolvable difference in different solvents. In compare with the extractionrate, extraction methed recycled cigarette butts was determined. Cigarette butts were extractedin water at70℃and the pH of the extract was adjusted to11~12by adding alkali.Continually, the alkaline solution was extracted by EtOAc to give nicotine, accounting for1.4%of the total weight of cigarette butts. The first residue was extracted by EtOH. After theresidue use water extraction and ethanol soak extraction, the concentration of the alcoholextract of the water suspension, followed with Hexane/EtOAc (v/v=98/2) mixed solvent,extracted with ethyl acetate, got crude solanesol from Hexane/EtOAc (v/v=98/2) mixedsolvent extracts, solanesol accounting for4.3%of the total weight of cigarette butts, then theEtOAc extract was extracted with Hexane/EtOAc (v/v=7/3,4/6), collected Hexane/EtOAc (v/v=4/6) mixed solvent can get around glycerine triacetyl that accounting for0.8%of the total weight of cigarette butts. The second residue was extracted by acetone togive acetylcellulose, accounting for17.7%of the total weight of cigarette butts.
