In contemporary society, oil is an important energy. But oil sludge is produced in the process of mining, transportation and processing. Oily sludge takes up a lot of land and pollutes the environment seriously. It has become one of the main pollutants in the oil industry. The purpose of resource and harmless of the oil sludge can be achieved by the method of pyro lysis.By analyzing the sludge drying process and pyrolysis process under no oxygen, the experiment had focused on the effects of heating power on the drying and the applicability of a variety of dynamic model under a constant heating rate in the pyrolysis process. The results showed that:the drying process could be divided into four stages:heating temperature stage, the constant drying stage, the first drying stage deceleration, the second drying stage deceleration. With the heating power increased, the change of Mr became larger, and the maximum drying rate changed larger. Page revised modelMR=aexp(-K?n) could meet the sludge drying process better. The pyrolysis process of oil sludge was divided into three stages: the volatilization of water and light components stage, the pyrolysis of heavy components stage, the decomposition of mineral stage. The value of E and A could be founded by the method of Frank-Kameneskii equation, Coats-Redfern equation and Doyle equation to model the pyrolysis process. It was found that the different kinetic models used in different stage could describe the pyrolys is process better. Finally, temperature distribution in pyrolysis furnace was simulated by Fluent software. The effect of heating temperature, heating time and the diameter of the pyrolysis furnace were researched. The results showed that:the higher the heating temperature, the higher the core temperature within the pyrolysis furnace; longer heating time, the higher the center temperature, the smaller the temperature range and the internal temperature distribution; the smaller the diameter of the pyrolysis furnace, the higher the center temperature and the smaller the temperature distribution.
