Morden continuous casting has become one of the important processed of iron and steel production.with learning and introducing advanced foreign technology,China’s continuous casting has developed rapidly in recent years.However,the eccentric shaft of the billet continuous casting machine’s crystallizer vibration system introduced from Italy has fracture accident at times in a plant in Guangdong. It seriously affects the production of steel billets and causes significant economic losses. Researching the eccentric shaft failure mechanism in order to ensure the normal operation of the continuous casting production lines,has important technical and economic significance. Taking it as the research object, makes some research.The main research work of the paper is as follows:Using theories and techniques of fracture analysis, complets fracture morphology analysis, spectrum analysis, and Microstructure analysis for the eccentric shaft,and gets a point that its fracture failure is caused by fatigue crack propagation.Completing mechanism analysis of the billet continuous casting machine crystallizer vibration device.With the vector equation derivates constraint equation groups of the four linkages vibratory mechanism; obtains the vibration mechanism dynamics Newton-Euler equations with Newton-Euler method. On this basis, obtains the linkage’s forces, preparing for stress analysis and finite element analysis of the eccentric shaft.Building the finite element modal, completing the static finite element analysis and modal analysis of the eccentric shaft with ANSYS software, then analysing the limit value stress and dangerous section when the eccentric shaft works with load,and studying the relation between load,vabration frequency, vibration mode and fracture failure.Analysing the basic reasons of the eccentric shaft failure, according to the theoretical analysis on it, improving the design from the structural design, material selection, rough forging, overall modification and surface modification,its service life increases significantly.The research work provides a theoretical basis to solve the problem of billet continuous casting production line eccentric shaft frature failure in a steel plant of Guangdong,and has improtant application value in engineering.
