Jinan The MSW Landfill Gas Collection And Power Utilization Research

With the development of the city and the improvement of people’s life, the problems of storage, transport and treatment of municipal solid waste (MSW) have increasingly influenced the quality of people’s life, ecological environment and the development of urban construction. Solid waste if not processed, not only takes up a lot of long-term pile up land resources, but also pollutes and damages the atmosphere and water environment. Therefore, it is indispensable to treat MSW effectively and timely in the construction of modern city civilization.This paper first introduced the production of MSW and the main treatment method. It points out that at present the sanitary landfill is still the major treatment in our country. In the landfill of MSW, all kinds of material will produce all sorts of biochemical reactions, and produces a large number of landfill gases. The landfill gases affect the environment a lot, such as:the greenhouse effect, the unpleasant smell, poison effects and health problems, explosion hidden trouble and vegetation deterioration. At the same time, the flammability of methane-the main ingredient in landfill gas has potential value, which can replace a considerable amount of fuel use, and belong to a clean fuel.This paper analyses production of MSW in Jinan. Jinan is the capital of Shandong province. it is the politics, economy, culture, science and technology and education center, urban area of3257square kilometers, by the end of2009census register a total population of6.0327million people. So far, the MSW production of Jinan has been to3000tons/day and forecast2012the MSW total output will reach1million tons. Jinan MSW treatment center, as the only one treatment place of MSW in Jinan has treated8.92million tons of the MSW in the past13years. Although at present it’s closed, but the landfill gas can still continue to be collected for use. The landfill gas production rate achieve maximum at about10years and, the gas production time can continue for40years or more.This paper designs the gas collection scheme, researches utilization way, determines the gas power generators for Jinan landfill gas utilization projects, and uses the vertical shaft and initiative system to collect the landfill gas. At last, the paper introduces the Jinan landfill gas collection and power generation commissioning situation. It proves that the Jinan landfill gas power generation project benefit is remarkable.
