Most of the MSW landfills that have been built in china commonly exist the problems of poor equipments, the low collection efficiency and other issues, and construction of projects lacks in-depth detailed technical guidelines and technical standards of national level. In order to control the emission of LFG effectively and stimulate the construction of LFG recovery and utilization projects, It's necessary to analyze the construction of LFG collection and utilization, and propose design parameters as references for LFG projects.This paper based on the necessary for the preparation of technical guidelines and technical standards, analyzes and compares the project construction, technology development and related standards of landfill gas collection and utilization at home and abroad; this paper is also combined with the existing design experiences and requirements, and the analysis of design and application of landfill examples is carried out. The main contents and conclusions of the text are as follows:(1) This paper analyzes and summarize the design guidance on vertical wells(horizontal trenches) in LFG collection and transport system, arrangement of gas pipeline network, discharge of condensate water etc; proposes some interrelated design parameters and project technology options for optimization of LFG collection and transport systems.(2) Brings forward principle for control and selection of pumping equipments; compares the prediction models of LFG production:the IPCC(Independent Police Complaints Commission) FOD model,EPA landGEM and the UNFCCC(United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) methodology tool,try to choose the model which suits for the landfills in China best. (3) Puts forward principle for control and selection of torch equipments; landfill gas for power generation as the main approach of use in China, the principles proposed for the choice of power generation equipments.(4) Research conclusions refined from this paper form several technical articles of Technical Code for Municipal Waste Sanitary Landfill(CJJ17-2008) and Technical Guidelines for Municipal Waste Sanitary Landfill.(5) Takes MSWS as examples; uses the research results and summarized technical articles to analyze the effects of practical application. The result indicated that the design measures adopted are reasonable and effective, the results estimated by UNFCCC methodology is more accurate, the tool is suitable for calculation of gas production in China.
