Preparation Of Sealing Materials For Resistant High Temperature Through Blending PTFE And PEK

Gasket can play the role of sealing, inside the equipment, machinery and piping. These gaskets are made from metallic or non-metallic plate material by cutting, stamping or other craft. Its role is to make the pipeline between the equipment and machinery sealed connection between the parts.As the development of new materials is costly, difficult and spends a long time. Comparatively, blend existing polymer materials to prepared high-performance materials, this method is simple, effective and economic. Blend technology research and application is a long and challenging task in polymer materials science field, but also is a promising field. Initially, blend of polymer is to increase the toughness, presently is to improve the performance of the polymer. That adds many new varieties, enlarges the polymer application for polymer family.Starts from the existing gasket material, ingredients and production processes, produce one kind of gasket that can fully meet the special need of the new high temperature heat transfer oil sealing gasket.Using PEK, PTFE, modified glass fiber, zinc oxide and asbestos fiber as raw material, use Muffle furnace and self-made portable gasket production device to produce gasket. Gasket is installed on the flange that is on specially crafted oil high temperature detecting device pipeline, and use the flue gas monitor device detect sealing. The experimental results show that, when the mass percentage of the material were:ketone28%, modified PTFE26%, modified glass fiber17%, zinc oxide23%and asbestos fiber6%, conducting oil temperature of350℃, the pressure<0.5MPa, it did not detect the leakage of heat conducting oil.Contrasting stainless steel gasket spiral wound gasket, special oil resistant asbestos mat, this composite material is more suitable for special high-temperature heat-conducting oil sealing.
