Nowdays, studies have shown that the village sewage has become an important source of pollution to the village environment and water. Dongjiang as the most important drinking water source for Guangdong Province and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Dongjiang water environment shows a typical feature of high economic density, high development speed, high water quality requirement and high pollution control density. Choosing the Dongjiang to carry out the control of water pollution system and study of complete set of technology to maintain the aquatic ecosystem health and demonstration projects are of great significance for the country’s future decades on the innovation of comprehensive management of high-functioning river water environment and Dongjiang water quality protection. This paper based on Dingnan town. We choose three different types of village as the typical villages. Through the household survey, data analysis and other methods, the village sewage characteristics of the study area were studied. Models and technologies are outlined for the governance of the village sewage. In this paper, we have studied the characteristics and control technology of sewage water of villages and towns along the Dongjiang river. It serves as reference and fundamentals for the future ecological management of the Dongjiang water environment.The main content of this paper and the results obtained are as follows:(1) The main sources of water pollution for the Dongjiang river area include point source from industrial wastewater, municipal waste, and large-scale farms’ wastewater and agricultural nonpoint source pollutants from the mountain, abandoned metal mines heavy metal pollutants, sewage in rural areas, scattered breeding of cattle poultry manure and other non-point source.(2) Different types of sewage wastewater of the study area mainly include kitchen waste, laundry waste and bathing waste. Wenchang village has the highest sewage discharge coefficient, while Hongzhou Village has the lowest. The sewage discharge coefficients of ordinary village, township-village and county village are24.30L/(day*person),32.20L/(days*person),33.53L/(days*person). Summer has the largest sewage production, and four times of peak production in a day.(3) Combining with the natural economic and social conditions of the studied area and feature of sewage, by testifying the commonly used villages and towns’ sewage process, models and technologies suitable for sewage treatment in the study area was proposed. Processing model has three types, as joint area processing, joint household processing and single-family processing. Processing technology takes the constructed wetland treatment technology as the core technology, and combines with land treatment, biological pond and farmland processing system.(4)Taken the Hongzhou village as sample, we studied the specific process design and operating results. The results show that the demonstration project runs stable and the treatment effects well.
