As we all know, porous materials are widely used in petrochemical industry, environmental protection, Drug slow-release, catalysis and communications, with thedevelopment of the technology. Therefore, porous materials have critical effect on thedevelopment of human beings. People in growing number are paying close attentionto adsorption which is an important method in the characterization of porous. Thispaper based on the surface characterization that made of BEL, Japan, inc. anddeepened the theory of adsorption, including gas adsorption and vapor adsorption.Firstly, this paper presents the history of porous materials, and then introducessome basic knowledge of adsorption, such as adsorption isotherm, BET moremolecular layer absorption model, Langmuir single molecule layer model, T-plotmodel, etc.Secondly, we have many porous materials, include black carbon, traditionalSBA-15, traditional SAPO-34and modified SAPO-34. Getting the adsorptionisotherm for N2adsorption of these materials, we analyze the datum at great length. We research the rules of these ones, not only on the adsorption isotherm, but also onthe BET and the pore size distribution carefully. We research a MOFs material whoseBET is so wide that it reaches to2000m2/g, this help us to get rich experience topractice the BELSORP-Max.Thirdly,3kinds of MOFs materials are samples, vapor of H2O、C6H6、C6H12areadsorb in the experiment. We get many different isotherms as well. These resultsproved that even the same material to adsorb various vapor, it would not get the samekind of isotherms. For the same reason, different materials which have the same vaporwould not get the same adsorption. In the future, adsorption theory will certainly get to perfect, the tools used will also get exact. As long as scientific researchers like all of us study intensively, diligent in thinking, there must be brilliant future for chemical research.
