Since the industrial revolution, global emissions of greenhouse gases hasincreased dramatically in the process of economic development, which led to risingglobal temperatures, therefore, the development of human society is facing seriouschallenges. In order to cope with the global warming more effectively, thoroughcooperation is required among the countries in the world. Especially, the cooperationbetween the developed and the big developing countries is going to be a top priority.There are three carbon trading system in the Kyoto Protocol, which greatly promotedInternational cooperation in climate change (ICCC). China started relatively latecompared to the EU in carbon trading, carbon trading market is underdeveloped, thecarbon trading system design left behind the EU, which led to China staying at thelower end of the industrial chain, lacking of competitiveness in the international carbontrading, resulting in substantial economic losses. It is an urgent task for China, beingthe biggest developing country, to take initiative in the climate cooperation with EU todefend national interests. Based on the relating international trade theory, this paperdiscusses the necessity and importance of China-EU climate cooperation, theeconomic base and the current situation of the cooperation, analyzes the problems inthe process of China-EU climate cooperation, proposes the correspondingcountermeasures to better promote the development of energy-saving andenvironmental protection in China and of China-EU carbon trading.The structure of the paper is as follows:The first chapter is the Introduction, Introduces the background the study, therelevant literature, the research methods, innovations and the deficiencies of this paper.The second chapter analyzes the threat posed by global warming on human survival and development, and draw the conclusion that it is urgent and necessary toreduce CO2emissions for the world, in particular, for the developed countries. Onthis basis, this paper discusses the importance of the international climate co-operationaround the world to complete the task of emission reduction.The third chapter analyzes the importance of the "Kyoto Protocol" in the globalwarming problem-solving, analyze the economic base of the climate of cooperationbetween China and the EU, the current situation and the basic principles and contentsfor future cooperation from an economic perspective.The fourth chapter analyzes the problems existing in the climate cooperationbetween China and the EU, the rules of cooperation, pricing, carbon finance, carbonmarkets and other aspects of disadvantage in detail, as well as the adverse impact ofChina’s carbon tradingThe fifth chapter makes an SWOT analysis carbon trade between China and theEU, and proposes the countermeasures to participate in international carbon trading forthe government and enterprises respectively,...
