This thesis has introduced the development tendency, general process situation and application situation of the domestic and international phenolic resin production. It has investigated the necessity of analysis and assessment of fire and explosion risk for phenolic resin production, and has summarized the risk analysis and assessment technique.Based on the project of phenolic resin production in Kolon GP Chemical (Suzhou) Corporation, the thesis has briefly introduced the productive technology of phenolic resin, discussed the risk of fire and explosion of all materials involved in phenolic resin production and analyzed the all kinds of factors that could cause fire and explosion accidents in the productive process.PHA method has been employed to analyze the risk of fire and explosion caused by leakage, HAZOP method has been used to conduct the hazard and operability study in the polymerization process of phenolic resin.FTA method has also been used to analyze the reason of fire and explosion accident. The crucial reason for fire and explosion accident has been determined through calculating the important degree of every basic incident, which is the important reference of established precautionary measures.Using Dow chemical fire and explosion Hazard index method, fire and explosion risk assessment for the four units of polymerization reaction, dissolving and two material storage areas, which have great influence on technology, have been carried out, and have determined the fire and explosion hazard grade of each unit. Exposure radius and area have been calculated out, and then precautionary measures have been put forward.Aiming at the two kinds of serious accident, pool fire and vapor explosion at Number.2methanol storage tank farm, I have established mathematics model, computed the loss and damage range, using simulation assessment technique, and put forward precautionary measures.
