In order to adapt the trend of broadening mechanization of coal mining, roadheader has been widely used in coal minng production. At present, roadheaders are working underground in almost all of the medium and large coal mines. It has become the main and one of the most important coal mining equipment.Through optimization of design of cantilever roadheader electric control system, this topic renewed the old electrical components, eliminated some electrical parts, adopted domestic advanced and reliable PLC and CAN bus communication technology, make the system more efficient, stable and anti-interferency with stronger communication and expansibility capacity; Based on PLC software motor comprehensive protector, leakage detection technology, it extended the service life of the motor, ensured the operators’ safety; with signal input isolation explosion-proof processing, the design not only reduced the volume of electric control cabinet, but also made it beautiful, durable and safety; with passive sensor and wide range voltage switch power supply, the design is more adapted to the working condition of wide range voltage fluctuations underground coal mine, ensured more stable working of the system. Througn operation and experiment underground, it performanced stably and reliably, the user was very satisfied. The design realized the desired effect, the electrical system is more stable and reliable, it automized the tunneling machine, improved stability and reliability of the electric control system, tunneling efficiency is also improvrd a lot, it relieves laboring intensity, efficiency and safety production is ensured.
