The kind of blade parts belong to the complicated thin-walled parts, they have a great variety and most of the blade surface is composed of free-form surface with high geometry accuracy. As the key components of the aeroengine, the proportion of all kinds of blade parts in Aeroengine Manufacturing is about 30%. The usual processing technology for blade parts includes NC Machining, Electrochemical Machining and Precision Forging or Casting.Tool-path for CNC Machining of Free- form Surface , Free-form surface curvature analysis and machining simulation are main contents in this paper, and the CNC Machining of Free-form Surface is comparatively overall discussed . Firstly, with the assistance of UG software,a three dimensional solid modeling of twisted blade is finished , which is the foundation of CNC machining .And a processing technology plan towards Free-form Surface is established , combined with the study on the impact of curvature properties of Free-form Surface on the CNC machining. Then according to the configuration feature and the research of the Free-form Surface CNC machining tool-path planning before,tool-path planning, which is suitable for closed impellers is proposed . Feed and anti-feed patterns, tool path patterns, shift patterns are detailedly described in this tool-path planning , and the calculation method of curing step length and optimal row spacing is introduced. In order to avoid machining interference, we made a interference region division of free-form surface and Gauss curvature analysis, used the method of interpolated vector to control the cutter-axis vector, and chose the suitable tool radius for processing through the curvature fitting principle, and determined the Interference-free Tool Path at last. Finally, used machining module of UG software for Simulation Verification, and according to practical machining situation, proved the feasibility of the tool path arrangement this paper proposed.
