In the modern industrial manufacturing, CAM technology is widely used, rich tool-path generated methods satisfy the requirements of the diversiform and complex workpieces. Among them, Among them, the cut plane is a widely used method of automatic CNC machining.In this paper, the key problem of calculating the intersection between a vertical line and edge protection surface of torus cutter is converted into computing the intersection with max Z-value between a vertical line and the edge protection surface of flat bottom cutter, using differential method. And this intersection process is derived analytical equations.In addition, combining vertex protection surface with edge protection surface as one part and unifying the intersection methods of the three shape tools protection surfaces, it improves efficiency and stability of the flow-up arithmetic.To deal with the tool path on the border need to search out the boundaries of an arbitrary surfaces model, this paper give a new solution named boundary following, which just like the bug seek border algorithm in the iconography.The author presented the concept of absolute invalidity edge, which will greatly reduce the redundant edge data, that is one part of the cutter location surface model data, has no the follow-up intersection.From a detailed analysis on the geometric theory of the effective spatial region of edge protection surface, the author presented the concept of effective area and provide the method to get the edge protection surface effective area of three shape tools, and improved the concept of the edge protection surface. By this way, can greatly reduce the numberof invalid intersection of edge protection surface.Psoposed the method of initialization cutter location point by key the points, by which can avoid the problem of invalid interpolation and skip some of the small features because of initialization cutter location point by uniform, By this way, not only can enhance the efficiency of the algorithm but also can improve the quality of the track.Psoposed the method of deciduous-type truncated intersection, by which can quickly get the N lines cutter line in one-time, and can be extended to the node interpolation algorithm and greatly reduce the number of invalid data elements traversed.
