To obtain high material utilization, the key technology of automatic layout is researched, and the automatic layout system is finished.Base on the analysis of current situation at home and abroad,the basic geometric algorithms in the computational geometry have been chosen and optimized, the methods of comprehensive evaluation and HCI(Human-Computer Interaction) are proposed based on the BL mobile collision. The monotone chain concept is introduced to calculate the minimum distance between two figures. The paper analyzed the common interferences which occurred frequently in the polygons’synthesis, and put forward a solution that can eliminate the interference phenomena perfectly. Combined with the BL emission policy, the BL mobile collision algorithm is designed, and the complexity of the algorithm is reduced. The BL collision algorithm has been improved, and the comprehensive evaluation is presented, there are two methods to find the optimal solution of the layout, one is to choose a high utilization state from different states of one part, and the other is to arrange the order of different parts to template on the sheet. The method of HCI is used to fill the blank area on the sheet.At last, a layout system which considering the direction of plate rolling is finished. Through the using of MFC library, this system takes the Visual C++ 6.0 as development platform. According to a large number of test results, it proves that this layout system is effective in improving material utilization and reducing the labor intensity.
