The corrugated board is a kind of reusable, renewable, recyclable and environment friendly packaging material. Because of corrugated board is cheap, lightweight, easy folding, convenient transportation, good printabilty and high strength, it is widely used in packaging and transportation. With the developing of Carton technology, its production speed and quality of the cartons is also rising. The price of corrugated box is much cheaper than those of wooden or plastic box and its price continues to decline. It will increasingly take the place of the wooden boxes and plastic boxes. Therefore, the demand for corrugated boxes will continue to rise.With the growing number of corrugated box manufacturing companies, the competition among enterprises is continuously fierce. In the production of corrugated boxes, a big problem is how to use the corrugated paper with low price to make corrugated boxes which can meet customer’s demand. So as it is possible to radically reduce the cost of production of corrugated board and increase efficiency.Many factors affecting the compressive strength of corrugated boxes. Generally there are includes internal factors and external factors. The internal factors refer to:the quality of corrugated board base paper, the number of layers of corrugated board corrugation. And the external factors include:the transport environment, such as:temperature and humidity during transport, mode of transport; design of corrugated box, for example:the type of corrugated boxes, the outside size of corrugated box, the aspect ratio of corrugated box, location and size of hole; printing and design, such as:the location and area of the printing. The transport environment must be considered before the design of the corrugated box. In general, humidity has strong influence on the compressive strength of corrugated boxes. Combining with our weather conditions:dry climate in the north but humid climate in the south, transportation between North and South must take into account the carton compressive strength loss. In addition, for the convenience of the workers handling or transport, holes are made in the corrugated box for easy transport or ventilation. These holes in the corrugated box are bound to cut corrugated, resulting in the loss of compressive strength.This thesis focuses on the humidity of the corrugated box and punches position, and researches the compressive strength of corrugated boxes in different humidity and different conditions of the punch position by experiment. The author researched the trends and changes in the degree of compressive strength of corrugated boxes with the humidity and punch position changing. After that the author did the simulation of corrugated boxes in the compressive strength under different humidity and different punch position changes based on the ANSYS software. Finally, experimental results and simulation results obtained were compared to evaluate the simulation results to obtain range of error between them.The results got form the experiment and the simulation cannot only be used in the research of compressive strength of corrugated boxes under different humidity and different punch position changes, but also can be used in some other aspects. The research laid the foundation for the compressive strength of corrugated boxes and can also guidance and optimize the design of the corrugated box.
