The Plastic Art Of Hanging Fish In Clothing Space Design Of Application

From ancient times to the present，both the building and the clothing, which has beenalways the topic of the architecture and the fashion, belong to the art design discipline andhave three-dimensional spatial pattern. They are both the spatial designs focusing on thehuman body to protect it; meanwhile, they have to design distinctly and be adornmentmore than their basic functions. However, with the development of the social economyand the deepening of the people’s emotion, the value of the clothing has greatly brokenthrough the traditional concept that it’s just being shelters. Creating spaciousness ofclothing with the modeling art is much accounted by the designers lately. With the newrequirements of modern clothing design, it has become an important problem tounderstand the connotation of the clothing spatial design and to design clothing withspatial pattern in effective ways.In today’s fashion design and the cultures of clothing, Chinese folk arts are generallyaccounted by the designers. As one of Chinese traditional forms of culture and art, hangingfish’s aesthetic peculiarities are exactly the same as the aesthetic rules in the thoughts forcreation. Hanging fish, which is an adornment of the traditional building, being located inthe central gables, is a half-stereo adornment modeling component of2d to3d seatedunder the eave. It’s used for preventing the rain from wood, which is the same as thecultural implication and spirit of the Chinese folk arts.Selecting the plastic arts of “hanging fish” in architecture as its starting point, thethesis states the cultural settings, the intention, the functions, the classifications and theaesthetics characteristic of the hanging fish; then it discovers a new basis in theory for thenew methods and the new styles of the costume design through the use of the redesign offabric, the unitary modeling of clothing, the folk arts and the design concept of“people-oriented”. The thesis is for enrich the design language of clothing. Through theinterpretation and the communication of the modeling arts, it would be the reference forother fashion design. Meanwhile, it provides some feasible rules for forms and theoreticalbasis for the designers to select and use different kinds of new forms rationally andflexibly.
