Research Of Automatically Programming System On MS-WEDM

Wire Cut Electrical Discharge Machining(WEDM) is a technology using of electricity and heat to process which has been widely used in moulding industry. With the development of machine tool designs, computer control and power supply, WEDM will develop into high accuracy and high productivity and automatically programming system is playing a growing important role. In this paper, based on the development of the existing automatically programming systems both at home and abroad and CAD/CAM technology as a main research direction, a new automatic programming system with independent intellectual property rights for Medium-speed Wire cut Electrical Discharge Machining(MS-WEDM) is designed and developed. This paper mainly covers the following research work:Based on the system requirements analysis, a software development framework is built and every module’s function is confirmed. The data structures of the CAD/CAM integration system is researched, some accessibility features and graphical user interface(GUI) is designed.The data exchange interface is researched and the information of graphics used in WEDM is got. The module of CAD is developed, including drawing and processing This paper gives the process of graph drawing. Based on the research of fitting and interpolation method of curve, some complex curve such as B-spline and command formula can be realized. Besides, each graph can be edited and transferred in geometry.The offset strategy of cutting track is research in the last part. To the graph either generated by this system or by DXF files, only after the graphic information is sorted by machining sequence in ordered linked list, the cutting track can by generated. A method is introduced to generate multi-cut track according to MS-WEDM for improve the surface characteristics. At last, the system can automatically get the ISO codes by cutting track.
