| This paper reviewed the present state and perspectives of CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design & Computer Aided Manufacture) applied to Punching Dies. It discussed the latest state of WEDM(Wire Electro-Discharge Machine) which widely used in the fabrication for Punching Dies and pointed that people will use WEDM instead of jig grinding machine is the trend of development in the punching dies' manufacture process. Under this situation, the paper analyzed the shortcomings and the potential improvements of the Auto Programming System for WEDM in domestic factories & enterprises. Based on these resources and analysis, the author used the AutoLISP/VisualLISP language developed a auto programming system which integrated computer aided punching dies' drawing and the wire electro-discharge machine under the AutoCAD 2000 environment, viewed from the logic, the developed system can be divided two components: computer aided punching dies' drawing and auto programming for WEDM.In the part of computer aided punching dies' drawing, the paper take mutual relations of the functions and structures as the start point, and oriented the characteristics of the succeeding WEDM, extracted a new design method -take the plates as the center of punching dies' design ~ for punching dies. Then discussed the style to organize the punching dies' structure, planed the manner to express the standard parts in the plated and specified the drawing steps. In the last, the author programmed and put the new ideas into effect.As we know, the WEDM is oriented towards the die plates, so, in the latter part — WEDM part ~ of this system, the author design the user interface, dialog box, according to the characters of the fabrication of punching dies, made the interface more efficiency and more humanity, what's more, considered the detail of the auto programming of WEDM, such as the generation of tool path, identification of tool compensation, process of multi-cut, optimization of the codes which is the product of the system's post process, the paper converted these into mathematical algorithms, and elaborated these algorithm and gave algorithm patterns.The final system is a good system and character with specializing process, friendly user interface, and high integration. |
