Conical surface machining function is an integral part of modern CNCsystem.Currently, domestic five-axis flank milling on conical surface is still at theresearch stage. The proposed method of five-axis flank milling on conical surface hasthe shortcomings of targeted and small range. Some part of the conical surface cannotbe achieved high-quality processing. So research on conical surface for five-axis flankmilling is very necessary.By analyzing the commonly used method of five-axis flank milling on conicalsurface, doing deeply research on characteristic of ruled surface and five-axis flankmilling, the flank milling for cone extensible ruled surface mathematical model isbuilded and the algorithm is designed in this paper. It mainly includes followingresearch contents:1. Build the cone extensible ruled surface for five-axis flank milling mathematicalmodel.By ananlyzing the feature of conical surface and the five-axis flank millingtechnology, mathematical model is builded. The formula of tool posture vector andtool center vector on the interpolation point is derived.2. Design the cone extensible ruled surface for five-axis flank milling algorithm.According to characteristic of mathematical model,the algorithm is divided intopretreatment part and interpolation processing part. The specific algorithm processesare given.3. Implement the function of the cone extensible ruled surface for five-axis flankmilling. After ananlyzing the structure of five-axis CNC machine, kinematicsconversion method is derived to the proposed algorithm. The implementation processof this function is given.Finally, experiment is done to verify the algorithm which is proposed in this paper.The results shows that the cone extensible ruled surface for five-axis flank milling iseffective and correct. |
