The high pressure roller press is one kind of grinding machine which can refine solid minerals. Itslow speed and heavy load work conditions ask for high performance of bearing. But at present almostall the high pressure roller presses have roller bearings with them. Many existing disadvantages ofbearing such as bad resistance to impact load, huge size, serious wear and short life seriously restrictthe rapid development of the machine. Hydrostatic bearings have the advantages of wide range ofworking speed, high load capability, good resistance to impact load and long life span. Therefore theyare often used as perfect support of huge machines. The main purpose of this thesis is to design ahydrostatic bearing that could meet the demand of high pressure roller press.The theoretical model of the hydrostatic bearing is established according to the theory of fluidlubrication. Non-dimensional Reynold’s equation is solved using finite difference and relaxationiteration methods. Then the static performance of the hydrostatic bearing is obtained. In order toanalyze the influence of the bearing key parameters on the bearing performance, different oil recessparameters and radial clearance of journal bearing are discussed. Then different oil recess number sizeas well as oil flow quantity of thrust bearing is compared. The relationship between structureparameters and bearing properties such as oil film pressure and thickness are analyzed, and the resultscan offer valuable reference to the design of the hydrostatic bearings used in the press.The elastic deformation of the designed bearing is calculated using finite element methods.Performance of the hydrostatic bearing is analyzed taking into account of oil film thickness andelastic deformation. The results show that both the distribution of oil film thickness and pressurechanged obviously, and the minimum oil film thickness considering the elastic deformation is largerthan rigid results.To balance the radial and axial load, the style that double thrust bearing located at one side of thejournal bearing is selected as the supporting of the rollers. Further more, the life span of hydrostaticbearing is determined by the oil supply system to a large degree, so it is necessary to design thesystem for the bearing. So the thesis gives some qualitative analysis on the hydraulic components ofthe system and put forward some selecting principles of them.
