The application range of the large scale seamless steel tube becomes larger and larger, and so does the gap of market demand。For China,the majority of the large seamless steel tube almost depend on import,with high price。Inner Mongolia North Heavy Industry Company has already successful developed the world’s largest 360MN metal vertical extrusion machine, so we study the research on FEM simulation of extrusion process of 304 Stainless steel tube。According to the characteristics of 304 stainless steel,we can use UG software to design billet and the three-dimensional model,save them as the file format of STP or STEP,and change the STP or STEP files into format of SHL by QFORM-3D pre-processor,then input SHL files into interface to get the three-dimensional solid model。Set the process parameters of the simulation before simulation,and then use the QFORM-3D software to make finite element simulate on billet like air cooling、upsetting、punching、perforation and extrusion。In this research subject,we do experiments on 304 stainless steel tube material and select different technical parameters for them,then obtain some reference factors from the forming process such as the distribution of temperature field,law of metal flow,forming load—time curve and so on。As to further improve the process we modify the model or reset technique parameters according to the reasons what lead the defects and re-simulate till ultimately get a reasonable consummate forming process—the third process,that is to say ,the third process namely the unilateral clearance between the container and the extruding cushion is 1.0mm, Pressure is 100mm and the friction coefficient of the glass lubricant is 0.03。。Actual production verification has been made,with designing hot extrusion dies which is based on the reasonable process。The results show that when the extrusion pressure is 358.86 MN, large seamless tube with external diameter of 580 , inside diameter of 350 and length of 6506 which meets the requirement can be produced .It further proves that the practical productions basically match the results of the simulation。Research on the influence of deformation parameters for the process of tube extrusion provides the theoretical and technical support for the actual production of 304 stainless steel tube。At the same time,it can further improve the quality of thermal extrusion,raise the utilization of material and the efficiency of production,shorten development cycle of new products,reduce technicians’workload thereby lower the production cost and provides feasible process parameters and theoretical basis for the process of other similar products。Therefore,the study on this subject has a certain theoretical and practical significance。...
