Under the circumstances of increasing train speed, the operation of many high-speed trains, rising freight volume and increasing axle load on rails, it’s of particular importance for Chinese railways to pay attention to the operation safety of trains, economically and socially. Considering that the quality of railway equipment directly affects the safety of railway transport, it’s necessary to have a real-time checkout and analyses on railway equipment.Comparing with the rapid development of railways and advancing detection technology in China, the visualization analysis of railway detection data is kind of lagging with problems, such as weak analytical ability on multi-aspect detection data in one field, inadequate consideration of space and time characters of detection data, as well as the indirect expression form in numeric characters. In order to solve these problems, the article introduces the concept of temporal GIS (TGIS) technology after analyzing the structure of track detection data to perform visualization analysis on the data by constructing the spatio-temporal data model based on GIS technology.The linear reference technology and dynamic segmentation are applied to the construction of railways spatio-temporal data model involving detection data to perform analysis on items, such as critical exception, railways quality, buffer analysis and overlay statistical analysis.The article concludes with the analysis on application of the visualization analysis of detection data.
