The cavitation phenomenon is considered an undesirable phenomenon in the water conservancy project and hydraulic valves. When the bubble breaks, it will produce high temperature and high pressure, which can cause corrosion of components, reduce the service life of the components. So it must be prevented. While in rock broking, lake cleaning, oil drilling, marine development and other fluid jet field, the phenomenon could be used for benefit.This paper based on the insulator water flushing car system’s cone convergent nozzle of the new drive technology center laboratory, which belongs to Southwese Jiaotong University. Using the CFD fluid simulation software--Fluent to simulation analysis, analysis on the different types of nozzle jet’s characteristic deeply, and compared the cavitation jet characteristic influence from the speed, water content, dynamic pressure and other aspects. At last, put forward the better structure parameters which are suitable for the water flushing system. The calculation results provide useful reference for nozzle’s optimization design.This paper consists of three parts:(1) Through the simulation and analysis to the original cone convergent nozzles of the insulator water washing system, work out the cone convergent nozzle’s jet characteristics. Then added several compressed air inlet passages in the nozzle wall, draw the effect of the compressed air inlet quantity and the ait inlet angle on jet performance. It provides the basis for the subsequent optimization of the cavitating nozzle.(2) According to simulation research of the conical convergence cavitation nozzle with serval compressed air passage on the side wall, it is additionally provided than air channel can increase the jet cavitation effect. But the water and the air mixing is uneven, and that the pressure of water inlet must equals the pressure of air inlet. The operation is complicated, regulate is not control better, so it must optimize and improve the structure of the cone convergent nozzle. By changing the nozzle structure—the additional of the cavitation cavity so that the water and the compressed air mixed evenly in the cavitation cavity. And study the pressure of water inlet, the angle of the water flow into the cavitation cavity, the angle of the compressed air flow into the cavitation cavity on the perfoemance of the jet impact, so it could achieve more satisfactory cavitation effects.(3) Because of the self-resonating vibration nozzle has the double advantage of cavitating jet and pulsed jet nozzle, in the last of this paper, using the CFD software simulate the self-resonating vibration nozzle. Through the theory and simulation results show that the suitable self-resonating vibration structure parameters for the insulator water washing system. Design the nozzle outlet diameter d, the length of the resonanat cavity L, and the angle of cone of the exports wall. Then research and analysis these different parameters on theeffect of nozzle jet of the self-resonating vibration.
