As an significant treatment in the cancer, radiation therapy needs to have accurate analyses for dosimetry of the target in order to insure the effectiveness. The dosimetry of the target depends on traditional emperial method and monte carlo method. The traditional emperial method has lower accuracy and cannot be used in some situations.125I plays an important role in the brachytherapy, the radiation characters of123I are studied in this paper, and according to AAPM, using the liquid mode, radial dose function、anisotropy function and dose rate constant are calculated with mcnp code. Also, these obtained functions presented by other researchers’ shows a very good agreement and the functions for this source are graphically compared.
