In this paper, spatial-temporal data model theory of open-pit based on analogical righttriangular prism as the theme presented, for the natural features of the open-pit deposit composedby sedimentary stratums and the features of the open-pit stope, the thesis0researched the theoryabout spatial-temporal data model of the open-pit mine, the method to build the spatial-temporalmodel of the open-pit mine, and propose to build space-time database of the open-pit mine basedon multi-Base states with amendments model, at the end, the paper discussed the applications ofthe space-time database. It is expected to be help for dynamic and three-dimensionalmanagement of open-pit mine.In the model the paper presented, all the continuous geologic bodies are considered as thecollections of some analogical right triangular prisms which have the temporal attribute. In orderto build the model of the open-pit mine, the open-pit deposit is considered as some adjacentindependent geological bodies separated by the geological structure surfaces, and theindependent geological body is the elementary unit in the model building base on the analogicalright triangular prism; Every independent geological body is composed of some adjacentstratums from top to bottom, such as the soil stratum, separated by the geological interfaceswhich can be exposed by the drill data. As a result, the geological interfaces, stope surfaceinvolved, can be expressed by the Triangulated irregular networks built by the drill data and theacceptance gauging data of stope using the partition algorithm, then modify every TIN by thedata produced by spatial interpolation that make every TIN has a same number vertexes and thesame topology as the TIN of stope surface, we call these TINs Multi-DEMs model; Then, it ismost important in this paper that translating the Multi-DEMs model to the T-ARTPNmodel(analogical right triangular prisms with temporal attribute model),and introducingstructural surface to cut the T-ARTPN model, so we can get a accurate T-ARTPN model toexpress the independent geological body, when we model all the independent geological bodiesand stored all the T-ARTPNs in one data base, a complete three-dimensional model of a open-pitmine will be created successfully. For the reason that the model need to express the process ofcontinuous changing of the open-pit mine, as the stope is constantly cut and the soil, rocks, andthe coal are transported from the stope to other places, it is advisable to survey the changed areaof the stop every month. Using the survey data, we can cut the exits model, more precisely; cut some APTRNs and get some new sub-ARTPNs to take place of the cut ARTPNs, after that, anew model will be created. All the ARTPNs that associated with some continuous time arestored and managed in one database, and managed with the principle of multi-Base states withamendments model, some useful applications will become possible through the research aboutthe index method of data in the spatial-temporal database, this paper from both static anddynamic aspects presents the methods of some applications such as3D-analysis of open-pit minemodel, calculation of reserves, classified counting of excavation body, and the playback of themining process, the preview of the mine plan. With the virtual data of open-pit mine, some parts of the experiment are finished based onthe platform of Geo-Engineer3D Assistant, and have gotten some potential results. It is provedthat the model can be used to satisfy the requirements of mined and management of the open-pit.
