China is one of the most serious countries which have geological disasters. In the various types of disasters, landslide is the most common and also creates enormous losses. If effective control methods are adopted, disaster losses will reduce greatly. Therefore, taking effective survey and position for landslide is a prerequisite for disaster prevention and mitigation.Firstly, this paper has discussed the causes of landslide systematically, and analyzed its principles. And then, landslide’s detection methods and detection principles are discussed. This paper also takes a brief description on the other methods, and the general working pattern of landslide positioning is set up based on the summary, which is the mode of the surface and underground surveying using a combination technology of two component common offset seismic method and the seismic wave high-density electrical statutory. Then, based on this pattern, specific project—Fuxin-Chaoyang Highway K366+100-K366+300landslide was analyzed and two methods were chosen to survey the landslide. At last, comprehensive and effective detection were made, and the conclusions were obtained by detailed monitoring data and maps. Combining with mapping and geophysical exploration methods can be suitable for the same type of geological disasters in the investigation.The conclusions of this paper provided a reference for similar landslide in the construction detection. The working pattern of positioning landslide can also provide a reference for the engineering practice, and then promote the development of the landslide detection.
