The rapid development of world economic integration directly promoted thecooperation of regional tourism. Since reforming and opening, Chinese tourismindustry has turned into an opportune time, which has becoming the bright spot ofeconomic growth. In the neighboring regions, the development of tourism willgradually go to the collaborative road. How to realize the maximum utilization ofregional tourism resources and how to realize the effective environmental protectionand economic sustainable development in harmony, those questions are the keyproblem of the administrative body institution and related scholars. Tourism spatialstructure has a strong influence on the directions of tourism development. The research on Wuling Mountain area from the perspective of Tourism spatialstructure tourism is still in a initial stage. The deepening scientific research on thesubject has a strong practical significance. This paper selected the economiccooperation of Wuling Mountain area, which was also the Wuling Mountain area asthe research object, each city and state of area has the foundation of the geographicalproximity and resource difference, which are the part of the regional tourismcooperation. Due to the difference of geographical conditions and the administrativesubject, the tourism development of Wuling Mountain area appears unbalance. Thestudy based on the reference to the regional tourism spatial structure, combined withthe specific conditions of Wuling Mountain area, created tourism spatial databaseusing MAPGIS software. It focused on the two aspects of resource and traffic, usedthe aggregation degree, spatial clustering, density, connectivity, access, connectivitymethods, analysed the characteristics of tourism spatial structure. The study methodhas a certain application innovation.Firstly, the study analyses the tourism status of Wuling Mountain area, whichwas including the regional basic situation, tourism resources and tourism trafficsituation. Secondly, it analyses the tourism spatial structure: used the aggregativedegree and spatial clustering analysis methods to analyze resource structure; usedclosed degree, connective degree, accessibility and relative connectivity methods toanalyze the traffic structure. The results have shown that the nearest neighbor ratioR=0.773308, which showed the tourism resources spatial distribution of WulingMountain area was an agglomeration type, and had a strong nearest neighbor positiveeffect. The closely index C=0.6211, which showed the layout of the tourist resources Wuling Mountain area has a low compactness. The relative connectivity of RC in themajority tourist resources area was bigger than the physical truth, which was showedthe tourist resources area connection was common, and its accessibility was poorwhich was not enough. The connected degree α=0.207, which showed that thenetwork loop of Wuling Mountain area was poor. β=1.630, which showed that thetransportation network connectivity of Wuling Mountain area was still under themiddle level, and the traffic line density of its connecting each tourist resources is nothigh. γ=0.568, which showed the traffic network connectivity of national tourismresources in Wuling Mountain area is common. In a word, the connectivity betweeneach resource area is weak, and the connectivity of the local area is poor, so they needto improve the tourist traffic network. Finally, according to the above analysis, itfound that the tourism spatial structure characteristics of Wuling Mountain area.Furthermore, propounded the tourism spatial structure optimization measures andoptimization approaches of Wuling Mountain area, and identified three main axes ofdevelopment, which were the Zhangjiajie--Huaihua Economic zone and Tongren--Qianjiang economic zone and Enshi economic zone along highway.
