The solar simulator is an instrument for simulating the character of sunlight irradiation. The small and medium sized solar simulator used for the simulation of ground environment has an important role in the photovoltaic industry. The spectrum of simulated solar simulator of the test of meteorological sensor that used for observation of solar energy resources is very strict. The mismatch degree of spectrum must be less than±20%and irradiation non-uniformity must be less than±1%.High-power and short arc xenon lamp was used to simulate solar spectrum of the solar simulator used for meteorology. Short arc xenon lamp has some advantages such as stable working condition and fine consistency of optical parameters. But there are some spectral differences between xenon lamp and the sun light in near-infrared waveband. According to the size of the spectrum differences, a appropriate film material was chosen and vacuum coating method of electron beam ion source aided sedimentary was used. An optical filter with waveband of0.3~2.5μm was developed and short arc xenon lamp spectrum was corrected by filtering secondary peak radiation deviated from the solar spectrum in the waveband of0.8'1.1μm. The corrected spectral irradiance distribution is closed to the solar spectrum. Irradiation matching is in line with the A-class match criteria of AM1.5solar spectrum.
