Laoshan is situated in southeast of Qingdao city, at the seashore of Yellow sea. Itis a national AAAA level scenic spots, a national forest park, and the famous ChineseTaoism, known as “No.1coastal mountain”, the "wonders of mountain and sea" in theworld. With the long-term effects of a special topography, physiognomy, environmentalgeology, within and outside geological forces, and rapid development of local economyand tourism, and human activities in engineering geology such as roads paving, housingconstruction, stone mining caused destruction of vegetation, and intensified thedestruction of the geological environment. The negative impact is increasing, such aslandslides, landslips, mudslides and other geological disater. The landslips, landslidesand mudslides appear every year, followed by annual flood season and new hiddenspots. Those sudden and harmful disasters are great threat for local people and visitors’lives and their properties. The research of the formation mechanism of various types ofgeological disater in different environments provides a reliable theoretical basis for theprotection of geological disater and local people’ lives, for disater prevention andreduction projects and the tourism industry, to reduce the loss of life and property,enhance social stability. nature of development planning, geological environmentalprotection and social promotion of coordinated development of economy haveimportant theoretical and practical significance.In this paper, Laoshan scenery major geological disater are study objects, on thebasis of the investigation of geological disater in2009, from the geological formation ofthe environmental conditions to start, on the landslips (unstable slopes), landslides andmudslides formation mechanism research。First, identify the main types of geologicaldisater in Laoshan, to analysis of the types, characteristics and distribution of space andtime of landslips (unstable slopes), landslide, mudslides; second, respectively analysisof the formation and topography of geological disater, lithology, geological structure,seismic, neotectonic movements, geological and hydrological the relationship of human engineering activities, both from internal and external causes of geological disasters toexplore the mechanism and influencing factors.Main results and conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1) In geological hazardanalysis, introduced the view of development of Quaternary glaciers. Peculiarconditions of topography that created by Quaternary glaciers is the one of inherentreasons of geological disater.(2)Geological disater are the result of a hidden powerinside and outside the geological and the combined effect of human activities, insidegeological effect is the decisive role for the degree of development of disater, heavyrainfall or continuous rainfall, human activities, new tectonic movements, earthquakes,geological disasters, are the main predisposing factors.(3) The next ten years is still thegeological hazard-prone period;(4) According to the number and the distribution ofgeological disasters that have occurred, the view that new tectonic movement is one ofthe underlying reasons of the frequent geological disasters is proposed in this paper.
