This paper has mainly completed evaluation potential of ore-bearing of granite, soil geochemistry survey and other aspects of the work area, aimed at making a preliminary evaluation of prospecting potential of tungsten and other metal elements in Changtangling mining area.Considering from regional geological setting, work area is located in the region which is controlled by EW trending Changjiang-Qionghai tectonic zone, SN trending Qiongxi tectonic zone and NNE trending Tanye tectonic zone, and also affected by NE trending Kunyuan tectonic rift zone, showing that work area has good regional metallogenic conditions. Evaluated resultant of ore-bearing potential of late Hercynian-Indosinian mid-fine-grained porphyritic biotite monzogranite exposed in the work area show that prospecting potential of W, Sn, Bi, and other high-temperature ore-forming elements is relatively poor. Results of soil geochemistry survey shows that abnormalities of W, Sn, Bi and other high-temperature ore-forming elements have low intensity, small scale, poor anastomosis, and no concentrated center. While abnormalities of Mo, Pb, Zn, Cu and other mid-high temperature ore-forming elements have high strength, large scale and good anastomosis, which are the focus of prospecting further work in the work area. Most abnormalities of Au are single-point abnormalities, of which reliabilities need further work to verify. According to the anastomosis situation between abnormalities distribution characteristics and geological conditions, abnormalities of ore-forming elements in the work area mainly distribute along the contact zone between mid-fine-grained porphyritic biotite monzogranite and two-mica K-feldspar granite. In particular, the anastomosis between high value abnormalities of Mo element and the contact zone is good. All above abnormalities may be caused by ore-bearing hydrothermal filling and replacing along the contact zone of different lithology.All in all, the prospecting potential of Mo, Pb, Zn, Cu and other mid-high-temperature ore-forming elements is relatively well in the work area, while W, Sn, Bi and other high-temperature ore-forming elements are relatively poor, and the prospecting potential of them need further work to evaluate effectively.
