The Delta of Yangtze River is impacted by the Yangtze River and Qiantang River, including the southeast of Jiangsu province, Shanghai province and the northeast of Zhejiang province. Average elevation is less than10meters, belonging to monsoon climate of subtopircs. Chlorococcales belong to Chlorophyta, Chlorophyceae. This is the first report to study the Chlorococcales of this area. They play very important role in the taxonomy and aquatic ecosystem. This dissertation will make a preliminary study on Chlorococcales flora taxa of the Delta of Yangtze River, and provide important data for our courtry’s the algae resource investigation.From the year of2010to2011,892specimens have been collected from451sampling sites, including southeast of Jiangsu province (Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou and Yixing, Nantong, Yangzhou, Zhenjiang, Taizhou), Shanghai province and northeast of Zhejiang province (Hangzhou).149species,31variant2forma were found in these samples. In these taxa,3genera,7species,4varieties,1form were new records in China. Detail characteristics of all species were described, and according to the characters observed in the LM,24plates were presented, concluding188photos.Scenedesmus was the most abundant, and then the Tetraedron, these species were widely found in the lakes, ponds, rivers and so on.
