Recently, Chinese high-speed railway has stepped into fast development stage. China has the world’s largest and highest operating speed of high-speed railway network now. Facing such a large scale of construction and operating routes, how to manage the massive amounts of data effectively and improve the level of information in railway system have become one of the main issues during the high-speed railway development in China.This thesis is based on the ArcGIS geographic information system platform for data processing, storage and logical operations to achieve space graphics and spatial information query and analysis, and combine the high-speed railway spatial information with attribute information, the attribute information are from each subsystem of the high-speed railway. Besides, the linear reference technology is often referred in transportation geographic information system, so this paper introduces it and organizes spatial database rationally, then develops a high-speed railway display&application system based on the database.The contents of the paper’s main research are as follow:1. The mileage values are used as location information for all kinds of specified resources alongside the track in railway system. Based on such characteristic, this paper constructs linear reference system and adopts mileage reference method and dynamic segmentation technology to locate high railway professional equipments, construction facilities and line properties The aim using this method is to realize spatial query of attribute data, while stored without spatial information, and supply convenience for maintaining data in the background.2. Reasonable design for database is crucial for well functions of GIS. Based on the spatial database logic model-Geodatabase in ArcGIS, this paper studies its structure of data organization, then analyses data structures and display needs of train control data. We organize data and design a Geodatabase, which meets the needs of the project.3. We use the secondary development platform-Arc Engine to develop application system, which is provided by ArcGIS.This paper focuses on the class library and related functions interface. We can achieve functions of data loading, layers control, dynamic segmentation, equipments query, real-time train moving, etc.The system can be treated as a beneficial trial for GIS application development of high-speed railway. It provides a valid reference for the construction of railway information and "Digital Railway" research and development.
