Glacier change is the direct result of climate change and has obvious response on climate change. With the development of3S(RS GIS GPS) technology, in particular, the application of remote sensing technology in high resolution optical sensing instrument, For those glacier which are harsh climatic condition,high altitude,steep terrain,avalanches hard to reach, We through3S technology which can be very good for the area, length, large range, all-round monitoring and calculating that will become one of the important means of glaciological research since the20th century,the1970s. Climate in Xin Jiang is extreme dry. Climate in Xin Jiang is extreme dry. Glacier have an extremely important position in Xin Jiang fresh water resource. Nearly half a century, In Xinjiang area, the rising temperatures, melting glaciers accelerating phenomena are closely related to global scale temperature rise. Temperature increase is greater than the volume of the glaciers accumulation which is the main reason of leading cause of Xinjiang glacier ablation volume continued to increase.This paper selects eastern Pamirs, the southwestern edge of XinJing as the research district.The satellite imgines (Landsat MSS/TM/ETM+) from1972to2011are used to map the surface area of glaciers. According to geographic information system, we take the supervised classsification and the band ratio method for autiomatic extraction of the glacier boudary.In the process of digitizing glacier the glacier inventory is referenced;analysis the characteristics of glacier resources change in different regions in the background of globle warning; Combined with1957to2010temperature and precipitation data,we study the relationship between the East Parmir glacier changes and climate change;the fractal theory is used to analysis glacier spatial complexity for the study area;and compared with other regional glacier changes in western China,The meam research results are in the following three aspect:1.Glacier Change:there are1253glaciers in the East Pamir Plateau glacier,1972~2011, East Pamirs plateau has a total of4glaciers melt,10glacial advance, total area change rate is-5.28%, year reduce2.369km2, the total reserves of change rate is-6.14%, year reduce0.185km3. From2000to2011, the study area had a total of16glacial advance, totai area change rate is0.54%, year reduce0.93km2, total reserves change rate is-0.58%, year reduce0.0165km3.1972~2011, the total area of change rate of-5.79%, year reduce2.599km2, total reserves change rate of-6.69%, year reduce0.201km3. In2000-2011, the glacier change rate has slowed down, compared with1972~2000.2.Analysis of glacier variation law: According to the different classification criteria,1972~2011East Pamir glaciers respectively according to different directions, different grades and different watershed area classification can be obtained the following conclusions:(1)the southeast slope area of glacier retreat rapidly, reaching10.87%, the southwest slope area of withdrawal minimum amplitude, only2.88%;(2)The glacier which was gleater than10km2, melts0.58km2,the largest of all diferent scale glaciers. But the melting rate was the least.,the area size in0.5~1km2glacier area ablation rate up to9.24%, area size less the0.1glacier area ablation absolute minimum.(3) The glacier of Gez river basin area ablation volume maximum absolute, up to45.54km2, Yeager rtse river valley glacier area ablation rate is highest, up to10.95%, Har lake basin area of glacier ablation volume and ablation rate reached the lowest3. To analysis influence factor of Glacier change:(1).Effect of weather:Summer temperature and annual precipitation are the root causes of glacier change control.1957-2010of annual mean temperature, precipitation and summer/winter mean temperature, precipitation were showing a rising trend, but the steep temperature increasing is the main reasons of shrinking glaciers. In1972-2000year, the rate of decrease of the larger glaciers and70’s relative high temperature and rainfall were associated with less. In2000~2011, glacier change amplitude slow down, basically in the steady state ralated with the relatively low temperature and relatively abundant precipitation from early80’s to mid90’s.(2) Glacier space structure influence factors Application of fractal theory to the study of the glacier area-the relationship between the perimeter, and to analysis.its space structure stability compared with the actual volume of ablation The results show that, East Pamirs plateau glacier stability index showing a slight downward trend, and explain the research area of glacial ablation rate will be in a high state in future.4. glacier change compared with other:The change trend of Eastern Pamir Plateau glacier in recent40years basic agree with our country western area glacier show trend, which are the number decreases, shrinking, reserves decrease. Study of glacier is a typical polar continental glacier area, The melting rate of it is smaller than that of Tibet Planteau in southern and southeastern maritime-type glaciers.But compared with the same type of plateau glaciers,the rate of glacier area change is larger.The specific reasons need further analysis the.information of the meteorological data,glacier movement and mass balance.
